Before the Desert (part 2)

Another thing that has blown me away has been raising support to go on this trip. I needed close to $2,000. Thanks to the generosity of friends and family I am probably going to end up with a few hundred more than that! It’s been a huge blessing and I couldn’t do it without them.

Along with that is the fact that I felt comfortable and even excited about asking for support. I had to raise a few hundred dollars for a trip in high school once and I hated it. But with this opportunity I was excited to get the letters in the mail and tell more people the story. The finances are an important part but I really wanted people to hear about and be inspired by the Saharawi. So I tried to focus my support letters on that rather than just money. It’s been an incredible experience to see God’s blessing in such a practical way.
